History of the Indigo Lighting company
-
1989.
- The company Soliben adds lighting to its historical business of parapharmacy with Technolight (a series of 12V halogen spotlights in sufficient quantity to power the chain at 220V). The system includes a regulator to vary the current according to the number of lamps, as well as a bypass for each lamp to ensure the continued operation of light sources in case one of them is defective. A judicious alternative compared to the toroidal transformer used at the time.
-
1993.
- Soliben (located in Sprimont) and Eurolichten (located in Trooz) collaborate closely to distribute lighting equipment in the Belgian distribution market.
-
1996.
- The Flexolight (outdoor Christmas decoration in the form of a garland) is the flagship product of the Soliben catalog.
-
2002.
- Soliben and Eurolichten merge for the better. Called upon to decide on the name of the new entity, the staff opts for 'Indigo.' The new company sets up in the expanded building of Soliben in the Sprimont industrial zone.
-
2012.
- Indigo introduces the AL1014 downlight, one of the first COB lights in the emerging LED market. This luminaire experiences immediate and meteoric success, truly launching the success story of Indigo.
-
2018.
- This has been a busy year for Indigo, which becomes Indigo Lighting. A new logo, new packaging, and a move to a new building, still located in the Cornemont industrial zone (Sprimont).
-
2022.
- Indigo Lighting is 20 years old! Over the last decade, Indigo Lighting has quadrupled the number of references in its catalog, the number of its employees, and its revenue.
-
2023.
- Indigo Lighting joins Collingwood (United Kingdom) and Nobile (Italy) to strengthen a European lighting group, majority-owned by Ambienta (Italy), one of the largest asset managers in Europe, entirely focused on environmental sustainability.
